Now pay attention, because this really is the number 1 reason why new bloggers fail to be successful.
People often fail to understand the difference between a blog and a website.
A website is a more or less “static” thing, used mostly by offline companies wanting to have a presence online (other than what they have on their social media). A website is typically only visited just a few time to get the information you came for, and then you'll leave.
As an example, you might google “opening hours CoffeeMouse NYC” (fictive name). You would go to their website to get the information and then probably leave again, to never come back, unless you forgot their times.
A blog is different. A blog is supposed to keep visitors coming back over and over again.
If you don't produce regular content, you are not giving your readers any reason to come back to your site on any sort of regular basis. Who is going to keep buying a newspaper that prints the same articles for 10 days in a row? That's right, no-one.
So why are you going to fail?
You are going to fail, if you don't update your blog frequently enough.
Set a schedule for publishing blog posts and stick to it – whether that would be daily, weekly or biweekly is really up to you. However, the more the better. Some of the best paid Lifestyle bloggers in the world are updating their blogs up to several times a day!
The worst bloggers will post regularly for a few weeks and then stop updating their sites. Perhaps they've run out of ideas or maybe they simply don't have time, Unfortunately, they'll lose their following, as people will stop checking for new posts.
